I want you to make a list of all the negative things you have been told about yourself and the negative things you rehearsed and believed to be true. Be especially deliberate about the things that were spoken over you from people that played significant roles in your life like a mother, father, grandparent or guardian. It is often the words of parents and others we love and esteem the highest that seemingly has the greatest impact on how we see ourselves.

After recording every negative word that comes to mind that has helped to shape your thoughts, go ahead and destroy them. I don’t’ care if you ball them up, place them in the garbage, garbage disposal, flush them down the toilet, bury or burn them. Also, rid yourself of any negative friends or acquaintances in your life. Negative people can slow your individual progress. Once you have completed this part of the process, take a step back. Breathe in and out several times taking deep slow breaths. After completing this process, I want you to determine to not look back or entertain any of those thoughts ever again.
