during this one-day marketplace event.

Frequently Asked Questions

The Mini Mogul Marketplace provides a space for young entrepreneurs to showcase their talents and abilities to the local community.

We will accept up to 60 businesses.

The application period will open on March 16th and will run until available spots are filled or until April 27, 2026, whichever occurs first.  Applications must be submitted online. Please submit one application for each business. Children, ages 6 – 16 years, working as a group should submit one application that includes each child’s information. No more than 3 participants per business.  There is a $10 fee per business that will be due after a business application has been accepted.

The application asks kids to think through some simple, but important elements of their business:

  • What product or service do you plan to sell?
  • What price will you charge for each product/service? How much will each product/service cost you?
  • How will you pay for your startup costs? If someone is helping you with your startup costs, how will you pay that person back?
  • How will you advertise/market your business before the fair?
  • At the end of the fair, how will you determine if your business was a success?

The Mini Mogul Marketplace will be held at Morton Middle School.  Each business will be given a 10 ft x 10 ft area to set
up their business. Please bring your own table.

We will only be able to provide electricity for a limited number of booths. Please, reserve
in advance.

This event is designed to give children, ages 6 – 16 years of age, the experience of selling a product or service. If a parent is found selling or promoting a child’s product or service, their child’s business will be disqualified from the competition.

Parents of younger children may sit in the booth, but the children should be responsible for set up, customer interaction, and sales.

Parents may help their child fill out the application, but we expect the children to do as much as possible by themselves.

Yes! Local business owners will be present at the fair and will visit each booth to ask
students various questions about their products and business practices. Awards will be
given within the following age categories:
6-8 years, 9-11 years, 12-14 years, and 15-16 year olds. Please note that the category of
participation is based on the OLDEST member in each business.
